While talking about Himalayan treks, the first one which comes to my mind is The Pin Bhabha Trek. Pin Bhabha Trek, located at an altitude of 2400 meters, starts from Kafnu in the Kinnaur Valley. On this trek, one climbs to a height of 4915 meters. This trek ends in Mudh, a small village on the other side of the mountain. The trail will take you through the dense forests where you can hear the chirping of the birds on Kinnaur side to Spiti on the other side. The trek is a bit challenging and takes 7 days to complete. The accomplishment of the trek is mesmerizing, as you can view both places simultaneously. It feels like you are gazing at two worlds from the top. Nestled atop Mathan Hills is the renowned Bijli Mahadev Temple, also known as 'Electric Mahadev.' The name is derived from Mahadev's connection with lightning. Legend says that God blesses the 60-foot Mahadev statue through lightning. When the statue shatters, the temple priest repairs it using sattu (powdered Bengal gram) and butter. It is believed that the statue protects the valley from lightning during storms. The trek from Kullu to the peak is worth experiencing. There is also a 12 km motorable route, but the real adventure lies in trekking, as the trail passes through the heart of Kais Wildlife Sanctuary. The overnight camping at Matikochar is a memorable experience, offering a serene view of the valley’s beauty. Nestled at an altitude of 2,960 meters in the Parvati Valley, Kheerganga is a picturesque high-altitude meadow within the Great Himalayan National Park. The Kheerganga trek is easy to moderate, making it a trekking haven for beginners. It takes two days to cover a distance of 12 km, with Kasol as the base camp. The trail passes through dense forests and winding paths. April to June and from September to November will be ideal for trekking. Kasol is easily accessible by road. There are multiple routes for this trek. The Barshaini route is shorter, but the Nakthan village route, which passes through apple orchards and Rudranag meadows, is more challenging. Kheerganga offers many activity options, including a dip in the hot springs known for their medicinal properties. In the nearby Pin Valley National Park, you might even spot a snow leopard if you're lucky. The scenic beauty and vibrant atmosphere make Kheerganga a must-visit trekking destination. Triund Trek, another peaceful escape in Himachal Pradesh, offers an ideal trekking experience. Set on the Dhauladhar foothills at 2,875 meters, it attracts both nature lovers and adventurers. Starting from McLeod Ganj, the trail leads through dense forests to Triund, where trekkers are rewarded with stunning views of the Kangra Valley.
